The first awkward conversation.
We ask, "What is your budget, do you have one?"
More often than not lately the conversation becomes circular about zero-based budgeting and ballparks.
You ask, "Can you give us a little sense of how expensive or affordable you are?"
Yes.
Let's begin with some sample costs and go from there.
Services and rates:
Full production: $15k-50k per day not including talent or location fees.
Director only: $3k-10k per day
Cinematographer/lighting: $3k per day
Interviewer: $3k per day
Crew only: $5k-10k per day
Project management: $200 per hour
Production consulting: $400 per hour
Equipment: tbd
Location services: tbd
Editing: $3k-10k per day
Travel: We have produced projects in every part of the US as well as Europe, China, South America, Canada, and Africa. We would like to do a job in Australia but maybe not in Antartica. (Travel costs are not included in the above sample rates.)
Creative development/script writing: A certain amount of creative collaboration is included on every job, but if you need help with generating original concepts, brand ideas, scripts and campaigns for films, advertising or web, we suggest our sister company: spring creative
